– ST. ANDREWS MAYOR JOHN CRAIG
"If these people are supportive of Jamer Materials, and believe in Jamer's solemn statements and science that they pose no threat to the environment (despite their operating history, and that of their parent company), let them host Jamer in St. Stephen. Let's plant a giant quarry dead-centre and sell it to the people as The St. Stephen Central Core Improvement Project."

– PURCELL
“I didn’t have time to think."

So the mayor of St Andrews wants the St Stephen town council to hear both sides before they make a decision. It's kind of funny he suggests that seeing as how his council refused to hear Jamer's side of the story.
Why is Purcell even bothering to weigh in on this? Doesn't St. Stephen have enough challenges without weighing in on St. Andrews' business?
That being said, has he not seen what Jamer is doing? Economic benefit or not, Jamer has created, at the very least, an environmental eyesore along the historic St. Croix estuary.
I wonder if Greg Thompson would be as opposed to Jamer and the quarry if he were not a nearby resident. How do you spell conflict of interest?
